He was on track to getting a degree in Communications, in pursuit of his father’s footsteps, who Jake considered his hero. What made Jake so special was his boundless energy, his charismatic attitude, and his contagious compassion that left a smile on anyone’s face. He was deliberate with his actions and made every precious moment memorable for both himself and onlookers. Through his inspiring outlook and personality, Jake left behind unforgettable memories and lessons that will forever impact everyone who knew him.

In addition to Jennifer, John’s wife of 9 years, he is survived by three sons, John (‘Johnny’), Joseph (‘Joey’), and James (‘Jimmy’), ages 7, 5, and 3. He is also survived by his father, John (Cheryl) Brown Jr., mother, Sandy Sumner, as well as siblings and countless friends from all stages of life. John was preceded in death by grandparents and other relatives. A devoted husband and father, John’s presence in his boys’ lives is what filled his every day to the very end.
