In Loving Memory of Daniel Lynn Myers
Fund Type: Family SupportNew Port Richey, FL
Fundraiser ends on March 07, 2018
Daniel Lynn Myers and his wife, Suzanne, came to Florida in 2007 from West Virginia to spend their golden years enjoying sunsets at the beach. They were living that dream happily for several years. About 4 years ago, Daniel was diagnosed with cirrhosis of the liver. The doctors didn't have much hope, but Daniel promised Suzanne that he wouldn't leave her. He fought hard against the disease and won.
Daniel and Suzanne would have a few more years of relative calm until September of last year. Daniel was having trouble swallowing. He went in to have it checked out and found out that he had esophageal cancer. It was not aggressive, so the treatment plan was to start after the holidays. It was scary, but treatable.
Daniel was preparing for his first round of chemo and radiation in early January when he was struck suddenly with pneumonia and a collapsed lung. He was admitted to Florida Hospital North Pinellas on January 7th. He had spent 3 weeks on antibiotics in the hospital trying to get it under control when he suffered cardiac arrest. He held on as long as he could on a ventilator, but the time came when he just couldn't fight anymore.
Suzanne is devastated by this loss. It was so unexpected and has left her with many pieces to pick up on her own. If you want to show your support and love to this family, please consider doing so by donating. Any amount, no matter how small you many think it is, will be appreciated beyond words.
Thank you in advance for your kindness and generosity.
