Fay Sosa Memorial Fund
Fund Type: Family SupportNew Port Richey, FL
Fundraiser ends on February 22, 2019
Fay Sosa was born in Cambridge, MA and spent most of her life living on Martha's Vineyard, specifically in Oak Bluffs. Her children attended the same school she did on the island. She always loved it there. Fay was a quiet and caring person. She spent her working years as an RN, serving 20 plus years at Martha's Vineyard Regional Hospital.
Fay was adventurous. She travelled when she could. Her favorite place, aside from her home, was Canada, especially Niagra Falls. She loved to ride motorcycles and continued to ride after she had a pretty bad accident. She could be a little stubborn sometimes.
Fay moved to Florida in 2003 from her beloved Oak Bluffs because her dementia had advanced to a point that made living alone impossible. Her oldest child, Linda, has been her primary caregiver since then, which was a struggle some days as Linda has health challenges of her own. Fay enjoyed the lake view outside her window here, as she always loved the water. And she especially loved sharing the home with Sasha, Linda's shih tzu. Fay would often say 'Sasha, it's grandma!' and Sasha would come running to her for kisses and snuggles. Her last words were words of love for Sasha.
Fay is survived by her four children: Linda Baez (Juan), Noelle Sosa (Orlando), Frederico Luis Sosa II (Emily), and Karen Sosa (Eric); five grandchildren: Vanessa, Evan, Brianna, Carmen, and Seth; two great grandchildren: Christine Marie and Paola Marie; and, of course, Sasha. She is also preceded in death by a granddaughter, Jacqueline Marie Irwin.
Fay's family is trying to follow through with her wishes to be buried on Martha's Vineyard, the place she loved most in the world. However, it will take help from their family and friends to make that a possibility. If you would like to show your love and support to Fay's family, please donate to this fund. No amount is too small. Any help that you can provide is so appreciated.
