Assistance for Dakota Douglass
Fund Type: Family SupportMoundsville, WV
Fundraiser ends on May 01, 2021
Dakota Robert Douglass, 26, of Moundsville, WV, formerly of Cameron, WV, passed away Tuesday, March 30, 2021, of a stage 5 brain tumor, at Ruby Memorial Hospital, Morgantown.
Dakota was born in Carol County, MD on November10, 1994 to Deborah and Duane. He loved life and spending time with his family and friends. Dakota was a member of the Cameron Baptist Church and the Church of Christ. Finding ways to give back to his communities, he joined the Cameron Volunteer Fire Department, which played a huge role in his life. He loved his job as a coal miner with GMS Mine Repair & Maintenance and was a video game enthusiast, “it was always hard dragging him away from his games”. Above everything else in life, Dakota lived for his four-year-old son, James.
Unfortunately, 1 year ago, Dakota was diagnosed with a rare form of brain cancer and after a hard battle and many treatments later, he lost that battle, leaving behind so many family and friends. His for of cancer is so rare, parts of the tumor were donated to WVU to help find a cure for those in the future.
In addition to his parents, Dakota leaves behind his son, five siblings, his maternal grandmother and an extended family and numerous friends, too many to count.
The family is asking for help during this difficult time to assist in not only final expenses, but with future medical bills and to help his son, James, in his journey. No amount is too small and every dollar is appreciated.
Condolences may be left to the family at www.carechapel.com.
