John Urquhart, age 43 left this world far too soon on Monday, December 28th. Few people are able to leave such imprints on our souls as John did. To simply say that he was a wonderful father, a devoted husband and an amazing son would be an injustice to the caliber of the man we have lost.
John is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Amy Urquhart and their three wonderful children; Braeden, Ian, and Graham. John showed her the magic and romance of falling in love few couples are fortunate enough to know. He provided a safe harbor for them all. He was the man who taught them about life, while they taught him what his life was truly all about.
John was a dedicated health provider, caring and working the Emergency Rooms, Hospice care, and home care. He was respected by his colleges and patients alike.
John was a man of faith and strong religious convictions. His church family, the Williamsburg Community Chapel, was a place he and his family sought support and comfort. John used his faith in the face of adversity, as an example to his children and family. He chose the joy of God in the midst of his personal physical pain every day.
John is survived by his loving parents, Mary Lou and Jerry Urquhart, his sister, Mary Beth and brother, Jeremy. He was the older brother who looked out for them and kept them.
His extensive skills in nursing was needed every week in supporting his Mother's recovery from a stroke. He was the sunshine that lighted their lives and the joy that lifted their hearts. and was the realization of their hopes, and their dreams.
We aren't really sure how one person managed to be so much to so many people, but we do know that the sun shone brighter with him in this world, the stars' glow more dimly now that we have lost him. We say goodbye to our one, our only, our everything as, we dwell in the glow of his memory, forever.
Friends of the Urquhart family request for charitable donations be made to help with the many future challenges and expenses they will face. These expenses include things such as children's health insurance, home expenses, funeral expenses, and the many challenges of being a single mother.
We thank you in advance for giving and being the blessing that you are. We love you very much and appreciate all that you do. May God bless you all.
