Help a Veteran's Family
Fund Type: Family Support
Hendersonville, NCFundraiser ends on April 27, 2018
Thomas Edward 'Tommy' Singleton, Jr., a Navy Veteran, lived nearly 30 years suffering from his medical conditions.
He was a hard worker for PSNC Energy for many years before being forced to retire early in 1992 because of his health. He battled kidney disease, heart failure, and prostate cancer, even having a stroke on his first chemo treatment, which led to a succession of strokes over the years.
His loving wife, Ellen, passed away in 2013 which resulted in Thomas moving in with his son, Brian. Brian's wife, Rhonda, even quit her job to stay home to take care of Thomas. Since moving to Polk County, the family hit a streak of bad luck: a tree fell and damaged trusses, the family's pump house caught fire which left them without a water source for 18 days and cost around $16,000 to repair, and a damaged driveway had to be fixed. They have spent around $30,000 for these repairs which exhausted their funds and put them in debt.
Please consider helping this family experience love and hope. Every donation, no matter the amount, will help them tremendously and will be forever appreciated.
