Joseph was a retired Captain of the United States Air Force, as such it would be in keeping with his love of his fellow veterans who had received wounds in service to our country to be so honored.

Joseph Narbut, Jr., age 83, of Wilmington, passed away on Monday, December 3, 2018, at his home.

He was born on April 21, 1935 in Sturges, PA. the son of Joseph Anthony Narbut and Mary Estock Narbut.

Joseph served his country with honor and distinction as a Captain in the United States Air Force, retiring after 20 years.

Joseph is survived by his son Vincent and his wife Andrea Davis Narbut and grandchildren Annika Claire Narbut and Oliver Vincent Narbut. He is also survived by his brothers Eugene Narbut and Hilary Estock and sister Maryann McDermott. Together with his parents he was predeceased by his brother Michael Narbut and sister Charlotte Narbut.

When Joseph was growing up he enjoyed playing baseball and as an adult continued his love of the game by playing in a senior softball league, he also enjoyed fishing, golfing and spending time at the American Legion and the Air Force Association. The single greatest love he had was for his family, his son, daughter in law and most especially his grandchildren whom he loved dearly.

The family will receive friends on Monday, December 10, 2018, from 6:00pm till 8:00pm at the Wilmington Funeral Chapel, 1535 S.41st Street Wilmington, NC 28403.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 12:00pm on Tuesday, December 11, 2018, at St. Therese Catholic Church, 209 S. Lumina Ave, Wrightsville Beach, NC 28480.

Joseph is to be interred in the Arlington National Cemetery. In recognition of his honorable and faithful service to his country there will be a rendering of Full Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers memorials made to the Wounded Warrior Project, in memory of Joseph, would be greatly appreciated.
