Corey Jacob Sargent passed away Saturday, June 11th, 2022 in Newport News, VA. He was born August 19th, 1996 in Virginia Beach, VA to Tracy Sargent and Gerard Carelli, Jr. He was an honor graduate of Kempsville High School and Old Dominion University, earning a Bachelor’s and Master’s in Physics. He was poised to be the first in ODU history to receive a PhD in Astrophysics.
Corey was a bright light not only in the lives of his family and friends, but especially in the lives of those he touched through his love of science and continuous learning - Consider contributing to help us honor and contribute his legacy.
This fund has been created to create a scholarship in Corey's name, through the Old Dominion University Physics Department.
