For more than 30 years, Erin has dedicated his life to serving others during some of their most difficult moments. Since joining Altmeyer Funeral Homes, he has worked in the funeral profession with compassion, professionalism, and a deep understanding of the importance of being present for families when they need support most.

Now, Erin is facing one of the most difficult chapters of his own life.

Erin has been diagnosed with myelodysplastic syndrome, a serious blood disorder that will require chemotherapy and a bone marrow transplant. The road ahead will bring uncertainty, difficult treatments, and challenges that no family should have to face. Yet Erin is not walking this journey alone.

By his side is his wife, Jessica, whose love and support will be a source of strength throughout every step of the journey. Together, they are surrounded by the love of their two children, Jack and Cassie, who give Erin even more reason to remain hopeful and keep moving forward. And, of course, there is Chewy, the family’s loyal dog, offering comfort, companionship, and the simple joy that can brighten even the hardest days.

The coming months will be filled with chemotherapy, medical appointments, preparation for a bone marrow transplant, and a long period of recovery. There will be difficult days, but there will also be moments of hope, encouragement, and strength. Erin’s journey is not defined only by his diagnosis. It is defined by the love surrounding him, the family standing beside him, and the support of his friends and colleagues.
