Help Us Honor Juanita's Legacy

Fund Type: Family Support

Newport News, VA

Fundraiser ends on September 11, 2023

In loving memory of our dear friend and beloved family member, Juanita Vann, affectionately known as Neenee, we are coming together to support her family during this difficult time.

Help Us Honor Neenee's Legacy

Juanita was born on July 9, 1972, in Virginia, and sadly, she passed away on August 4, 2023, in Hampton, Virginia. With heavy hearts, we calculate her age as 51 years old, but her spirit will forever remain ageless in our memories.
Throughout her life, Juanita wore many hats, dedicating herself to various roles that made a difference in the lives of others. She worked as a bus driver for Newport News Public Schools, Crittenden Middle School, and Heritage High School, ensuring the safe transportation of countless students. Juanita also had a passion for nursing and spent time working in the field, caring for those in need. Her dedication to serving others extended to her time as a bus driver for HRT, where she continued to make a positive impact.
Beyond her professional endeavors, Juanita had a zest for life that was truly infectious. She found joy in the simple pleasures, such as listening to Reggae music, praying, and reading the Bible. Juanita loved treating herself to manicures and pedicures, relished in dining out, and took great pride in dressing up and doing her makeup. Her vibrant spirit illuminated every room she entered, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Juanita's faith was an integral part of her life, and she found solace and strength through her involvement with Dunamis Christian Church. Her unwavering belief in the power of prayer and her commitment to her spiritual community were a testament to her character and unwavering faith.
Now, as we gather to mourn the loss of our beloved Juanita, we want to ensure that her family is supported during this challenging time. We kindly ask for your generous donations to help offset the cost of the funeral and the loss of income that her family will undoubtedly face. Every contribution, no matter the size, will make a meaningful difference and provide much-needed support to Juanita's loved ones.
Juanita is survived by her loving mother, Jeffri Barksdale, and her cherished children, Carissa Vann, Ronnie (Sade) Johnson, Miasia Vann, and Gerald Bullock. She also leaves behind her older sister, Louvenia Vann, along with her children, Kadeem Vann, Shanice Vann, and Shawn Brown. Juanita's younger sister, Cheryl Wright, and her children, Aaliyah Preston, Charles Preston, and Drevon Preston, will forever hold her memory close to their hearts. Additionally, she leaves behind eight grandchildren and ten great nieces and nephews, who were all touched by her love and kindness.
Let us come together as a community to honor Juanita's legacy and show our support to her grieving family. Your generosity will provide them with the comfort and assistance they need during this challenging time. Juanita's spirit will live on through our acts of kindness and love.
Thank you for your compassion and support.
