In honor and memory of Vera “Janie” Johnson
Fund Type: Family SupportChesapeake, VA
Fundraiser ends on October 24, 2020
Vera “Janie” Johnson dedicated her life to her kids loving them with all of her heart. Her top concern was her kids and not being able to provide for their needs or tend to their hearts. Let’s honor Janie through contributions to support her family.
The loss of Janie is so deeply felt by so many, words on a page cannot begin to serve her justice. There is a saying “a friend to all is a friend to none.” Janie is the exception to this rule. She truly was a friend to all. If you knew her, you fell in love with her. She left this world with a piece of everyone’s heart but she also gave each of us a piece of hers.
In August 2014 Janie was diagnosed with Primary Peritoneal Ovarian Cancer. Since then, she fought a fierce and fearless fight to persevere in every aspect of life. This beautiful single mother of 3 was driven to live life even fuller than she had been in the past. She had a special relationship with the Lord and focused her love and energy on her 24-year-old daughter Savannah, and her 14-year-old twins Luke and Lily who now are just beginning their first year of online high classes. She wrapped herself in her kids and creating memories while living it to the fullest to never complain about the pain or side effects of her sickness. But rather, she kept her focus on her faith and applied her positive energy on soaking up every minute with her loved ones including a bucket list of items of fun adventures with the kids and exciting trips to which intermingled friends in with her family.
With most items checked off on her bucket list, and almost all of the love and energy she had left now spent, it was time to let Janie rest and let her family and friends carry her torch. This family fund is being set up to help her 24year old daughter Savannah now raise twins Luke and Lily. In the last several months of Janie’s life, Savannah left her job to take care of her mom and family. With no life insurance left by Janie, Savannah and the kids will be starting a new life together. Our hope is to take the financial burden off them enough so they can grieve without the worry of finances, while they start “their new beginning”.
Thank you for your love and support of this family.
