Mrs. Tucker was born on January 14, 1925 to Robert Haskins and Sallie Zehmer Haskins in Dinwiddie County, VA.  Anne married a local young man as he returned home from World War II.  She loved spending time with time with family, especially if a meal or watermelon was involved.  Anne was a devoted servant to her community and church.  She was ever one to stay busy and learn something new.  She was one of the first staff at Roanoke Chowan Technical Institute (now Community College), rising through the ranks to serve as Registrar and Financial Aide Officer.  After retirement, she sold real estate.  She and her husband, Tommy, Sr., moved to The Fountains of the Albemarle in their later years, where they celebrated their 75^th wedding anniversary and where she played bridge, introduced herself and visited with every resident.
