Charles was a proud father to his four children and enjoyed being "Pappy" to his nine grandchildren.  He spent his entire life farming in Halifax County and enjoyed playing cards, golfing, and bird hunting.  Charles could usually be found with a cigar and his sense of humor and steadfastness will be missed by many.

The mission of St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital is to advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment. St. Jude is leading the way in finding cures and saving children.  A donation to St. Jude Children's Hospital will help to honor Charles's memory and help support further research against childhood cancer.
