Help honor Dr. Saunders by making a donation to the Dr. J. Fred Saunders / Aulander Medical Practice Scholarship Fund.

Dr. Saunders served the community of Aulander for many years.  He began his family medicine practice in 1958 in a building next to his father.  When his father retired, Fred cared for many of his father's former patients, their children, and grandchildren throughout their lives.  He made "house calls" long after most physicians had ceased doing so and followed his father's example by caring for invalids and those with limited means and no transportation.  Fred was a remarkable man and physician and will be greatly missed by everyone.

The Town of Aulander was blessed with a "Dr. Saunders" for nearly 100 years.  In an effort to continue the legacy of caring the Dr. J. Fred Saunders / Aulander Medical Practice Scholarhip Fund was established.  A donation to the Scholarship Fund will help to honor "Dr. Fred's" memory and help the next generation of healthcare professionals continue his legacy of care and compassion.
