Helen was born on May 25, 1925, to the late Willie L, and Eunice Pope Fleming in Halifax County, NC.  Helen worked for Enfield Insurance Agency for over 30 years before retiring at the age of 70. She was always full of life and often had people stop by the office just to say hi. She grew up on a family farm with her two older brothers, Willie “Buster” and Pope.  At the young age of 5, her mother passed away, leaving her to become immensely close to her father who showered her with love and protection but also taught her to be strong and independent.  Helen overcame many obstacles, including polio but it never slowed her down or stopped her from enjoying life.  Helen was a wonderful cook and was very creative.  She enjoyed making clothes for her children, various crafts, and crocheting blankets.  She loved her children and grandchildren and cherished every minute she could spend with them.  Helen will be remembered for her kindness, her beautiful blue eyes, and for the love she shared with everyone. She will be deeply missed by her family and all who knew her. Helen loved Enfield Baptist Church also.
