Jim was born on February 25, 1950 to James Miley Ward and Clara Dilday Ward Smith in Ahoskie, NC. He spent most of his career in retail sales of building materials until retiring and doing some contracting on his own. Jim cherished his family, especially his daughter and the apple of his eye, R J "P-Nut", his grandson. He was a member of the Roanoke Chowan Shriners. He always had a desire to have a Harley Davidson motorcycle and fulfilled that desire Christmas shopping. He enjoyed spending time at the beach, one day wishing to retire and move to the Outer Banks to live. Jim was loved deeply by his family and will truly be missed by his family and friends.
