Mr. Byrd was born on February 7, 1949 to Jarvis and Allie Mae Lassiter Byrd in Ahoskie, NC. He spent his entire life in the Millennium area. Al attended Aulander Elementary School and graduated from Ahoskie High School. Later, he earned two Associate Degrees from Roanoke-Chowan Community College. He worked with several businesses and was employed by Robertson Brothers Equipment in Rosemead, NC at the time of his death. At a young age, Al gave his heart to Jesus and joined Wakelon P.H Church. Over the years, he has served the church in many capacities including usher, Sunday School teacher, and Board Member. He was currently serving as Deacon and Music Director.
