Mrs. Britton was born on August 23, 1924 to Harold Burleigh Hill and Edna Pope Hill in Murfreesboro, NC. Mary was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was a devoted member of St. John Baptist Church and had served as a Sunday school teacher for 50 plus years. She enjoyed working in the upholstery shop with her daughter and sewing clothes for many different people. Mary had a passion for poetry, especially the funny ones. She is loved by many and will be deeply missed by all that knew her. She loved and supported her church.
