Dick was born in Bertie County, NC. He worked for the Department of Transportation for forty-one and a half years before retiring in July of 1993.Dick served his country by serving in the US Army and served his God by serving in many positions at Union Baptist Church.  He was a loving husband, father, and Grandpa.  He loved his family first and enjoyed spending time with them, especially his great grandsons.  In his spare time, he loved fishing, bird hunting, and tinkering on lawnmowers. 

A donation to Vidant Home Health and Hospice Care will help to honor Dick's memory and help support a vital local organization.
