Tara Kay Smith Memorial Fund

Tara Kay Smith, 47, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday January 19, 2022 in Norfolk, Virginia surrounded by her family.  Tara was born October 11, 1974 to Tommie and Janice Smith in Virginia Beach, Virginia.  She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School. 

If you knew Tara, you knew the one great love in her life was music, but especially worship music.  Tara led worship at many churches over the years including Beach Pentecostal, Connect Church, One City Church and Liberty Live.  Tara loved ‘King Jesus’, her family and friends and was forever laughing or making others laugh with her quick wit.  Tara loved traveling, going to concerts, dancing and she especially loved her dogs. 

Tara was predeceased by her paternal grandparents, Luke and Madeline Smith and her maternal grandparents, Russell and Juanita Holland, and her uncle Buddy Smith.  Left to cherish her memory are her parents, Tommie Sr. and Janice Smith, her brothers Tommie Jr. (McKenzie), Trent (Jenny), Trey (Ashley), her beloved niece and nephews, Torrance, Casen, Gibson, Harper and Easton, as well as dozens of aunts, uncles, cousins, and countless friends and associates.
