Bill was born on June 29, 1942 to the late William Claude Dunning, Jr. and Willie Dunn Dunning in Hertford County, NC. He was an oil truck driver for many years. He was a dedicated member of Oak Grove Baptist Church, Ahoskie Kiwanis Club, and Aulander Ruritan Club. Bill was a loving and devoted father and grandfather, affectionately called Big Daddy and BeBe by his grandchildren. He was an avid fan of NASCAR with his favorite driver being Richard Petty. Bill never met a stranger and loved working with his hands. Once he stopped driving the oil truck, he opened up a business that he owned and operated for 5 years, Bill's Country Corner, in Connaritsa, then began working for Perdue building chicken houses. After that, he finally got to enjoy his time staying at home and would always have supper on the table when Nita got home from work. Bill was loved by many and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
