In Memory of Austin Hughes
Fund Type: Family SupportNewport News, VA
Fundraiser ends on November 27, 2019
Austin Hughes Jr., 60, passed away suddenly Tuesday, October 22, 2019, at his home in Newport News, Virginia. He was a machine designer for the Clinch River Company where he helped design mining equipment. When he wasn’t at work Austin loved to spend his time watching the waves and dropping a fishing line in the water. As he got older, he really enjoyed talking and getting to know new friends and old.
Austin was a hard-working man who always provided for his family. He was financially supporting his daughter Lucile, who is working her way through an unpaid internship to become a dental hygienist. He was also excited for his daughter Madeline, who is expecting his first granddaughter Samie. Madeline is six months pregnant and is devastated that her daughter will never be able to spend time with his grandpa getting to know and learning from him.
We need to come together as a community to help support the Hughes family. Not only for the funeral expenses but for other life expenses that have come up and ones that will come up. As he was the family financial provider, there are still expenses that Lucile and Madeline will need assistance with and our assistance will go far in ensuring that Austin’s legacy lives on. Thank you for any help you can provide.
