We need to come together to help the Martinez family at this time.

Phyllis Martinez, long time resident of Newport News, passed away on December 27, 2019, at the age of 58. She was a devoted wife and homemaker as her husband, US Army SSG Victor M. Martinez, Jr., served our country for over 19 years.

After her husband’s untimely death, she made sure that her family was cared for as a young widow. As the matriarch, she worked hard to keep everything going smoothly until she fell ill suddenly , and was no longer able to provide for them. After becoming ill, she stayed at the Sentara Nursing Center in Hampton until she was reunited with her husband’s spirit in death.

Phyllis’s family wants to lay her to rest with her husband at; Albert G. Horton Jr veteran’s cemetery in Suffolk, Virginia. We are needing to come together to help the Martinez family not only with final expenses and laying her to rest with her husband, but the additional costs from her medical care, bills, and housing expenses that are overwhelming for her family just after the holiday season.

We want to thank you for any contributions that are made; they will help lighten the finical burden during this tragic and difficult time.
