Fundraiser ends on September 08, 2020
Joseph Richard Fordham Jr, “Joe”, 35, passed away in his sleep at home on Wednesday, August 5th, 2020 in Virginia Beach, Virginia. Joe was born March 13th, 1985 to Karin Cathleen Kitchen and Joseph Richard Fordham.
Joe grew up here in Virginia Beach right alongside 7 other children in the same house. Growing up in a house filled with parents, siblings, cousins, aunts, uncles, grandparents, and then some; there was no shortage of lives whom Joe’s had an impact on, and not just at home but within the Carriage Hill community as a whole. Joe was so excited to be an uncle to his new twin nieces as family meant a lot to him. He kept saying he liked the sound of, “Uncle Joe.” He had a huge heart and knew how to have a good time. A free spirit always on the go, Joe loved the outdoors and was always available for anything; whether it was just listening to music with you, swimming at the beach, biking in the woods, staying up late to talk about literally everything, or even just some hard work in the sun. He was always full of energy, curiosity, and love, and would be happy doing any of it so long as he was in good company with friends or especially, family.
Joe is predeceased by his grandmother, Sally Wysocki; grandfather, Hackley (Charles) Kitchen; sister, Rachel Fordham; and uncle: David Fordham.
Left to cherish his memory is his mother, Karin Lane; father, Joseph Richard Fordham, Sr.; His uncle John Johnson and aunt Dorothy Johnson; two brothers, Christian Engel-Hamman, Josiah Lane; sister, Hannah Lane; stepfather, Roy Wilson Holloway; grandfather, Stuart Wysocki; grandmother, Frances Hawkins, step grandfather, Donald Hawkins; uncles, Gregory Kitchen Sr., David Kitchen, Robert (Sam) Fordham and Troy Fordham; cousins, John Johnson Jr., Kristin Johnson, Lynne Forbes, Rachel Kitchen, Daniel Kitchen, and Gregory Kitchen, Jr., and many loyal friends.
With all of the emotional pain that a death brings, it also brings financial burdens, especially in this very unexpected loss. As a community, we want to ease any stress on the family caused by outstanding costs of the funeral and what comes afterwards.
It is in these times of sadness and loss that a community truly comes together. Please consider leaving a donation as an expression of comfort and support to the family and please keep this family in your thoughts and prayers.
