Robert Austin “A. White” Martin

On August 17, 2019 the world lost a brother, a friend and an exceptional father. Austin Martin was born November 27, 1987 to Laura Martin and Robert Troy Martin. The house was always full of laughter and fun at the Martin’s. They say that you are forced to grow old but not to grow up and that was the whole truth for Austin. He was a big kid at heart – he was always playing with his son Troy Louis Martin or providing a wrestling match or a human jungle gym for his cousins, nieces and nephews. Nothing could stop Austin if he was having fun – it was something the whole family loved to do, but Robert Austin Martin was without a doubt the “Fun Uncle” everyone wished they had. In all of Austin’s pictures, you can see just how goofy and fun he was. At work, Austin was a painter for Atlantic Custom Painting. At home, when Austin wasn’t wrestling with the little ones or playing video games with his son and light of his life and world, he would be controlling the music of the house. Everyone had to hear Austin play “Don’t Take the Girl” by Tim McGraw or ‘the Ghost song’ (“The Ride” by David Allan Coe) and if you didn’t, he gave you a talking-to about good music and listening. For the most part, Austin could be found with his son Troy. The two were as close as brothers what with Austin’s big, silly nature. They fished, gamed and were generally inseparable until Austin’s sudden passing. If you couldn’t find Austin and Troy out catching fish together you could find them on the couch, cheering on the Wisconsin Greenbay Packers. Austin’s house was rarely quiet – laughter, games, music and the magic of a fun-loving family permeated the air and much of that had to do with the special person that Austin was. The only time there was quiet was when Austin was enthralled in the pages of a book. He deeply enjoyed reading and has shared that love with his younger family members. Everyone was a brother to this big man, and if you needed a hand, he had your hand, back and anything else you needed – he would give you the shirt right off of his back. In addition to Austin’s playful nature, he was an honest, true man and the best friend, brother, uncle and father anyone could have ever asked for. Everyone was welcome in Austin’s family and Austin made sure they felt that way. The world is a little darker without that effortless, cheerful light and though the family grieves deeply, they hold tight to the memory of laughter, fun and games. Austin has gone, but he will never be forgotten – not by this family nor anyone else who had the great fortune to meet him and know him.

Austin Martin has gone to meet his grandfathers, Forrest Dermont Holmes, and Clyde Martin, and his grandmother Dorothy Martin (Mamma Dot) in the evergreen fields of Heaven.

Left behind to love, remember and cherish Austin always are his parents, Laura and Robert Martin, his son Troy Louis Martin, his siblings Tyler and Dylon Martin, his grandmother Barbara Holmes, his uncle Jay Dixon, his aunts Kimberly Patrick and Jessie Dixon, and his cousins Presley, Dermont, Gracie, and Nora Holmes and Alexandria and Ayla Dixon and many more friends and loved ones.

Please assist the grief-stricken family by making a charitable gift to help secure a better future for Troy. Anything given to the family is deeply appreciated.
