To support a cause dear to the family of Butch Maloney, Families of Autistic Children in Tidewater

Walter “Butch” Clement Maher Maloney, entered Eternal Life on Saturday, November 2, 2019 at the age of 76 years. He was born in Washington, DC on October 4, 1943, to Andrew Joseph Maloney and Anna Wales Maher Maloney. Butch is preceded in death by his parents, and beloved canine companion Peanut-man. In 1963 "Butch", Bob Holland and Pete Smith managed to relocate the East Coat surfing contest to Va. Beach. He worked as a lifeguard, bartender, surf shop owner and for a run of 25 years, he owned a T-shirt shop at the old Williamsburg Pottery Factory. Toward the end of his life, he poured his energy into writing. A version of his amazing adventures can be found in his book found on amazon: A Bestseller 11/ 2/2017. Butch was a natural comedian, loved playing golf as here is where his sense of humor came in handy. No one who met Butch will ever forget him.
Left to cherish his memory are his brother Andrew Maloney and his wife Margie; sister Andrea Schara; one nephew E. Martin Schara IV; one niece Michelle Mauboussin; eight great-nieces and nephews; one step-niece; two step-nephews, and an amazing number of friends who cared for and cherished Butch all the way to the end.
A memorial service to celebrate Butch’s life will be held on Sunday, November 24, 2019, at Festival Center at 8th and Atlantic, 712 Atlantic Ave, Virginia Beach, VA at 11:00 am
