Supporting Officer K. Byrd, Chesapeake Police Department, as he rides to raise awareness and financial support for Law Enforcement United’s “Road to Hope”, a mission to Honor the Fallen, and Remember the Survivors

We are proud to have an opportunity to stand beside Officer K. Byrd, of the Chesapeake Police Department.  As citizens of Chesapeake, we are reminded often of the impact of a professional, dedicated and caring department.  Today, we have a unique opportunity to give back…literally where the rubber meets the road.

What:  As a community, we have the opportunity to support Officer Byrd as he participates in Law Enforcement United’s “Road to Hope”, a mission to Honor the Fallen, and Remember the Survivors.  A three-day bicycle ride from various parts of the United States to Washington, D.C., Officer Byrd is a member of Team Chesapeake and will ride the Virginia Route - from Chesapeake (where LEU is headquartered) to Washington, D.C.

Why: LEU proudly donated one million dollars in 2019, on just the 10th year of the organization, which is entirely volunteer driven - from the members up to the CEO.  LEU's primary partners are Concerns of Police Survivors Kids Camp, the Officer Down Memorial Page, and Spirit of Blue Foundation. “COPS” Kids Camp is held each summer for children who have lost a parent in the line of duty. This camp allows for children to have fun and heal in an environment with others like them from around the country. As the children age, they become the counselors for the younger and newer students. Officers Down Memorial Page (ODMP) tracks the line of duty death of every police officer in the country, dating back to well before the creation of the internet. Finally, Spirit of Blue is a non-profit organization dedicated to the enhancement of officer safety and vitality throughout the law enforcement community by promoting public awareness for their protection and fulfilling safety equipment and training needs.  Their efforts have resulted in multiple confirmed saved lives.

How: With the link provided below, you are able to give back to the police and those left behind, their families.  100% of your contribution will be shared with the programs listed above.
